Qena

Qena oder auch Qina ist eine Stadt in Oberägypten welche zwichen Hurghada und Luxor und liegt am Ostufer des Nils. In Qena liegt der Dendera Tempel welcher mit einer der best erhaltensten Tempel ist und war der Göttin Harthor gewidmet. Da der Tempel bis ins 19. Jahrhundert verschüttet war, konnte dieser sehr gut erhalten werden. Ähnlich wie viele andere Tempelanlagen in Ägypten war auch der Dendera Tempel zum Nil hin ausgerichtet jedoch nach Süd-Nord Richtung und nicht nach Süd-West Richtung. Der Dendera Tempel beeindruckt durch seine Wand und Decken Malerei deren Farbe bis heute gut erhalten geblieben ist. Die in Kuhgestalt erscheinende Göttin Hathor stieg später zur Himmelsgöttin und wurde schlussendlich zur allumfassenden Gottheit, sie war Totengöttin, Göttin der Liebe, Göttin der Schönheit, Göttin des Tanz und der Musik und Göttin des Friedens. Ihre Tochter Isis übernahm zu einem späteren Zeitpinkt einige Aufgaben von Ihr. Nur an der Decke kann man alle Tierkreiszeichen und Abbildung der Himmelsgöttin Nut noch gut in Farbe sehen.
